Admin / Biog History Lavinia Hunter (Feb. 9, 1894-Dec. 7, 1973) a native of Gastonia, North Carolina, taught 1st grade at the Training School for 35 years. She began in 1931 and retired in 1965 with a perfect attendance record. She received an AB from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1915 and a MA from George Peabody in 1931. Prior to moving to Bowling Green she served as first grade teacher in Gastonia from 1923 to 1931. [WKU Press Release]
