|Admin / Biog History||Alonzo Carroll Burton was born in Lawrence County, Indiana on July 15, 1867. He served as Superintendent of the Mayfield City Schools prior to joining the faculty of the Western Kentucky State Normal School in 1912. He was head of the Rural Education Department until his death on October 14, 1933.|
