Admin / Biog History William Herman Lowe was born in 1897 and grew up in the Warren County area known as Thomas' Landing on the Barren River. After graduating from Ogden College in 1918 he joined the U.S. Navy and took writing courses at Harvard. Upon his return to Bowling Green, Lowe was involved in the hardware and sporting goods business, He was married to Sarah Emma Hermann who worked as a teacher in the Bowling Green school system and the WKU Training School.
