Heavy white paper with matte finish. 1.5 cm. white border around the whole, then a 3 cm. black border. A poster commemorating the centennial of Western Kentucky University. The poster features a large rendition of the Henry Hardin Cherry Statue, the colonnade, and the fifty year pylon, and the Guthrie Tower cupola. In large red letters "WKU" is featured at the top, and in black letters with red background "A Century of Spirit" appears at the bottom. Art work by Matt Tullos of the WKU Art Dept. Records created by and about Bess Fayne Cherry primarily personal correspondence with family and friends and arranged in chronological order. It contains news and information about her children, Josephine, Elizabeth and Henry Hardin, Jr. ("Hardin"); illnesses; and the death of Henry Cherry. Correspondence from Henry Cherry in 1934 tells news of their children, events on campus and his lobbying efforts in Frankfort. A letter from "Mary" (probably Mary A. Leiper) gives an account of Louisville flood refugees housed in Bowling Green in 1937. The collection also contains speeches and short stories written by Cherry.

General correspondence regarding Western Kentucky University. Incoming letters are mainly addressed to Henry Hardin Cherry. Responses are made by Cherry and occasionally by faculty and staff. The president's secretary Mattie McLean is the writer for some of the letters signed by Cherry. Some of Cherry's personal papers are also found in this series most notably those pertaining to his political aspirations and two candidacies for the Kentucky governorship. Copies of outgoing correspondence begin to appear in Box 1, Folder 50.
