Letter, 10 September 1941, from Louise Beckwith, Pasadena, California, to Camilla Gerard, Bowlilng Green, Kentucky, relating information about Beckwith's mother, Carrie (Burnam) Taylor, who had a well-known dress-making establishment in Bowling Green from 1878 until her death in 1917. Also includes copy of a 1914 newspaper article about Mrs. Taylor and her business.

Original unsigned letter, n.d., written to Camilla Herdman Gerard, Bowling Green, Kentucky, describing the 1937 Louisville flood as the female writer experienced it. She expresses her thanks for Gerard's hospitality in bringing her to Bowling Green to provide for her. Also included are a typed copy of the letter and a photocopy of two photographs showing the flood's damage (original photographs are housed in the Gerard Photo Collection).
