Namesake: Benjamin F. Cabell was born in Taylor County, Kentucky on June 6, 1850 and attended Ohio Wesleyan University but never finished. He became a preacher and in 1875 he was elected to be a professor at the Warren College until 1877 when he began employment at the Cedar Bluff Female College. He served as president of Potter College which he began in 1889. He died September 19, 1909.

History:
The building was used as the Music Hall from approximately 1911 to 1926. The School of Music was located on the first floor of the hall. The School of Domestic Science and Arts was located on the second floor.

The stones of the building were reused to construct the Home Economics Building in 1926, making room for Gordon Wilson Hall on the original site. The Home Economics Building was located next to Helm Library and was rnamed the Industrial Education Annex.
