|Title||A Picture Book Quilt|
|Lexicon Category||2: Building Furnishings|
|Description||"A Picture Book Quilt" crib quilt made from Anne Orr blocks pictured in a 1933 issue of "Good Housekeeping Magazine." The quilt is composed of six applique blocks made from solid and mostly floral print fabrics that are appliqued to a floral print foundation. The binding was made from the same fabric as the foundation and is hand applied. The textile is handquilted at nine stitches per inch in diamonds, parallel lines, and outline quilting. The appliques were probably constructed in the 1930s, but the textile was not completed until 1994.|
