Description Quilt block of a woman holding a parasol that was inspired by the fashion plate illustrations that appeared in "Godey's Ladies Book" and other nineteenth century women's magazines as well as the Colonial Revival illustrations of men and women that appeared in newspapers and magazines and on greeting and playing cards and other printed media during the 1920s and 1930s. This figural appliqué features embroidered accents and ribbon embellishments. Never used, it was affixed to white fabric for use as a pillowcase or cover.
