Description Carolina Lily pattern quilt, ca. 1875, composed of red and green pieced tulips that are appliqued on a white ground. The red fabric is a solid while the green is a print with a small brown figure; the quilt has a muslin backing and a red binding. Individual blocks are set on point with 30 complete blocks, a row of 1/2 tulip blocks on one end, and a row of 3/4 tulip blocks along each side. Complete blocks measure 12 x 12 inches. The quilt is hand quilted with parallel line quilting in the pieced blocks and a checkerboard pattern quilted in the plain setting blocks.
