Title Funeral Ribbon Quilt
Object Name Quilt
Description Quilt top pieced from celestial blue and white funeral ribbons. Checkerboard medallion effect in center of quilt top, surrounded by alternating celestial blue and white borders (each measuring 5.5"-6" in width). Seams of border strips are covered with pink, blue, yellow, and white Herringbone stitching. The top is finished with 1" wide white binding.

Quilt top pieced from funeral ribbons by the members of the Athens Baptist Church of Lebanon, Tennessee to the donor's father, Willliam Harmon Howard, who often spoke as a guest speaker/minister at revivals in other churches throughout south central Kentucky and northern Tennessee.
