In the spring semester of 1931, the first course in religion was taught in the English Department by Dr. Earl Moore. In 1961 the first philosophy courses were listed in the catalog. 1962 had the first full-time philosophy professor and a philosophy minor was offered in 1965. In 1966 the Department of Philosophy was established in Potter College and WKU. In 1967 the department received a Danforth Foundation Grant to help establish five religion courses and changed to the Department of Philosophy and Religion. Dept. Heads Ronald H.
