Katherine Graham Peden
Katherine Graham Peden, 1926-2006 became the first American woman to serve as state commerce commissioner and only woman to serve on the National Advisory Committee on Civil Disorders established in the mid-1960s by President Johnson to investigate civil unrest in Los Angeles and several other American cities. She was the Commencement speaker for WKU's 1967 service.
