  5. Patent Process for Curing Leaf Tobacco

    Tobacco remains one of Kentucky’s most important cash crops. This broadside explains a new patented process for curing leaf tobacco developed by John W. Barnett of Big Spring, Virginia. The process involved using water that was poured near the fires during curing.
