Description |
This piece is an oil on canvas that is held by a wood frame. In the picture there is a woman wearing a white blouse, a black dress, and a white apron. She is sitting on a rock in front of a shore. Beside her (to her proper right; viewer's left) there is a brown and white dog. Behind the woman is a night sky with a crescent moon and ships in the harbor. The back of the piece shows that the wood holding the canvas is held together with wood pegs. Nails keep the canvas connected to the wood. There is an old paper sticker on the back with the old number written on it. According to the old Aquistion card the artist of this piece was H. Bruggerman, but they were wrong. The artist's name was Hermann Brüggemann. |
